Flowers for Friends #34: Dancing Lessons with Daddy (Texas Homesick)| Original Mixed-Media Floral Painting

If you've ever listened to country music, you've heard someone with a heavy accent talk about dancing at the Honky Tonk on every county line.

This is not an exaggeration of my culture.

Two stepping is a very important part of who we are. My grandparent's met when my Papa was playing in a Honky Tonk houseband and my grandma was whirling round the floor. They were married weeks later.

My parents got engaged on a dancefloor.

And my daddy taught me to two-step in our kitchen, twirling me around the large rectangle island where we cooked our favorite meals, inlcluding breakfast tacos, enchiladas and pizza. (which now that I live in England, understand why Grandma Linda always said pizzer. IYKYK.)
