Growing up, my family was a camping family. And one thing that we absolutely always did, was put out the red checkered tablecloth over the picnic table at the campsite.

We had the best long weekends at places like Dangerfield or Tyler, riding our bikes, swimming in the lake and eating smores. The tall, tall trees and deer running around everywhere...fishing. This was what it meant to live it up in the summer in Texas. And I'll think of that everytime I see a red checkered tablecloth.
